FIELD TRIP - THE PLIOCENE SUCCESSION OF THE ROMAGNA APENNINES AS ANALOGOUS OF THE SAN POTITO - COTIGNOLA GAS FIELDS
(2014)
(EDISON S.p.A, Italy)

The field trip illustrated the stratigraphic architecture (structural highs and basins) of the Pliocene sediments outcropping into the Romagna Apennines mountain range and provided correlation to the stratigraphy adopted for the San Potito - Cotignola wells, drilled through the anticline located few km toward North, buried under recent sediments.
INTEGRATED BIOSTRATIGRAPHY OF THE SAN POTITO – COTIGNOLA WELLS: GEOLOGICAL IMPLICATIONS
(2013-2014)
(EDISON S.p.A., Italy)

Thanks to a biostratigraphic approach integrating planktonic Foraminifers and calcareous Nannofossils, the study reconstructs the stratigraphic and structural evolution of the Cotignola high (cluster B and C) and of its flank (cluster A), with a detail (chronological resolution) never reached before on the structural highs of the Po plain.

GELA BASIN GEOHAZARD EVALUATION
(2013)
(EDISON S.p.A.)

Geohazard analysis related to past giant landslide activity along the Sicilian continental shelf margin and slope. The study focused on the reconstruction of the past activity of the landslides by correlating the overlying sediments from the last glacial maximum to present. The results have been instrumental in pipeline route planning, aimed at refining the ENI-EDISON Offshore Ibleo project, Sicily Channel.
